Combi-Courts Project

KWFCDT Combi Courts Project

In June 2023, the Kouga Wind Farm Commmunity Development Trust made a call for proposals from Sports Facilities Developer involved in SPORTS, ARTS, RECREATION AND CULTURE  of its four focal communities of Umzamowethu, KwaNomzamo, Kruisfontein and Sea Vista.

The call was for the refurbishment and repurposing of existing sports courts into Combi Courts accommodating Netball, Tennis and Basketball in the local schools. The project initially targed three primary schools namely; Mzingisi Primary School, Graslaagte Primary School and Kruisfontein Primary School, but grew to accomodate more schools throughout its three phases.

Under the Sports, Arts, Recreation and Culture pillar, the Trust aims to improve social cohesion and inclusivity, and protect the heritage of communities. This will improve local communities’ well-being, leading to reduced vulnerability and inequality, and improved safety and security.
