Empowering Kruisfontein Youth
In partnership with Propella Business Incubator, the KWFCDT successfully hosted a 2-day Design Thinking and Hackathon Workshop/Training in Kruisfontein. This initiative brought together young, tech-savvy individuals to develop innovative solutions aimed at tackling crime and enhancing community safety.
The Propella team engaged with the Kruisfontein community beforehand, raising awareness and preparing participants for the workshop.
During the workshops, participants explored creative strategies to address crime and uplift their community guided by facilitators guided by facilitators Masa (Propella Business Incubator Manager), Nadia Mjwara (KWFCDT Community Liaison Officer), and Deon Pretorius.
This initiative aligns with KWFCDT’s Welfare & Humanitarian Support pillar, aimed at reducing vulnerability and improving safety. By equipping local youth with problem-solving tools, the Trust continues to foster empowered and resilient communities.
