Prince Mpumelelo Matonsi

GENERAL MANAGER

Mr. Prince Mpumelelo Matonsi has a stellar track record in managing operations for both non-profit and private sector businesses. Mr. Matonsi brings on board his impressive skills in stakeholder engagement and management, as well as creating and fostering strong collaboration initiatives. These will be very useful as he drives the programmes and impact of the Trust.

Prior to joining us, Mr. Matonsi was serving as the Chief Operations Officer for the Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber, where he also served as the Operations Manager for over five years. We are excited about his appointment!

Siyabulela Zondani

Projects Operations Officer

Siyabulela joins the KWFCDT as the Projects Operations Officer. An accomplished business development practitioner, Siyabulela has extensive skills in Project Management, Community Development, and Leadership Development.

 
His expertise will drive the Trust forward as it continues to strive towards being a catalyst that empowers communities to be resilient, self-reliant, and sustainable. He also brings fresh perspectives and dynamic leadership to the Trust. 

Sesethu Mtotywa

Finance & Administrative Officer

Sesethu joins the Trust as the Finance and Administrative Officer. Before joining the Trust, Sesethu worked for Mpact Corrugated Port Elizabeth as an Assistant Accountant. She has also worked as a part time Assistant Facilitator at Nelson Mandela University.
 
She holds BCom General Accounting from Nelson Mandela University and is currently studying towards her CIMA from Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
Her recruitment is an exciting development for the Trust! 

Nadia Mjwara

Community Liaison Coordinator

Nadia joins the KWFCDT as the Community Liaison Coordinator. Her role will help the Trust strengthen its relationships with the community members and stakeholders it serves and works with. 

Her recruitment is an exciting development as the Trust thrives to live upto its values which are: Trustworthy, Engaged, Collaborative and Empowering.

TRUSTEES

The trustees of Kouga Wind Farm Community Development Trust are made up of a trustee representing the SPV of the Trust, two trustees representing Kouga Wind farm, four independent trustees (currently with community development, investment, legal services, and academic backgrounds) and a trustee representing the community.

Motlalepule Nathane - Taulela

CHAIRPERSON

Motlalepule Nathane (PhD) is a qualified social worker and Lecturer in the department of Social Work at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg.

She has over 15 years of lecturing experience and has a special interest in research. She also has extensive experience in the field of child protection in South Africa. As a social worker she developed a community based education intervention on child protection in informal settlements in the province of Gauteng, South Africa.

Thabisa Ncama

COMMUNITY TRUSTEE

Thabisa is the Independent Trustee in the KWFCDT board. She works as an Administrator at a school in KwaNomzamo, Humansdorp.

“I am passionate about community development and about the upliftment of the poor,” she says.

Her appointment came after BIDC ran a lengthy voter education process leading up to her election as a trustee. She showed leadership qualities and a passion for community development.

Marisa Bester

KWF REPRESENTATIVE

Marisa is an experienced investment specialist skilled in Financial Structuring, Corporate Finance, and Private Equity, particularly in the Infrastructure sector, including Renewable Energy.  After leaving the sector briefly, she returned just in time for the first round of the IPPs in 2012.

“It is especially motivating to know that the impact of these renewable energy projects is spread across the country in new communities, since these plants are situated in areas which did not traditionally participate in energy generation,” she says.

Matodzi Ratshimbilani

INDEPENDENT TRUSTEE

Matodzi is an experienced Corporate Commercial Law Attorney who has practised law for over 25 years focusing on Corporate Commercial Law, Public Law, Company Law and Corporate Governance in general and with specific focus on State Owned Companies. He founded and was the managing partner of MNMR Attorneys before joining one of South Africa’s largest law firms as a director in the corporate commercial team with a specific focus on mining related mergers and acquisitions.

He later left to co-establish TGR Attorneys. He currently heads up the Corporate Commercial department and is a member of the Management Committee.

Masechaba Malibu

INDEPENDENT TRUSTEE

Masechaba is a sustainable development professional who strongly believes in value creation, where success at a personal and business level, is linked to social progress.

She is the Co-founder and Director at Forethought Africa, a social impact

advisory and management services company. At Forethought Africa, she she leads engagements in the areas of Sustainability and Social investment Strategy and Impact Management.

She is recognised in the renewable energy industry as one of the leading minds in Economic Development.

Shereen Sobokter

KWF REPRESENTATIVE

Shereen Sobokter was recently appointed as a Trustee representative of the KWF. Shereen is currently the KWF’s Finance Manager.

Her responsibilities at KWF involve the overall management of finances through development, approval, implementation and maintenance of all matters directly related to the accounting function. She is also responsible for ensuring financial deadlines and obligations are met, such as supplier payments, contract compliance and customer billing, to name a few.

The Trust welcomes Shereen’s appointment and will constantly tap into her skills and excellence.
