The Kouga Wind Farm Community Development Trust recently held a handover ceremony for one of its significant projects aimed at improving learning environments, and tackling water shortages.
Having committed R6.2m over two phases, the Trust has retrofitted 301 toilets in 7 beneficiary community schools. This initiative is not only providing jobs but also restoring dignity to young people through clean, functional facilities that save about 150,000l of water each day!
The General Manager, Prince M. Matonsi, appealed for proper utilisation and maintenance of these new infrastructures, emphasising teaching learners the importance of taking pride in their surroundings. “Honourable Principals let’s empower our young children to become proud guardians of their institutions,” he said.
A huge thank you goes out to the Trust’s partners – the Department of Education, Kouga Local Municipality, and Enviromoud. Your collective efforts are helping to empower a new generation and foster resilient, sustainable communities.
